AAPSU to raise NE issues in Delhi

ITANAGAR, Oct 3: A delegation of the All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) and North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) representatives of the state, led by AAPSU general secretary Tobom Dai will join the federal units of the NESO and apprise the national leaders on various issues pertaining to the North East region during its visit to New Delhi from 5 to 12 October.
The issues to be raised include the Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016; separate time zone for north eastern states, recurring floods in the region to be declared as national calamity, separate IAS cadre for the state of Arunachal Pradesh, etc, according to a union release.
Besides the AAPSU, components of the NESO include the All Assam Students’ Union, the Khasi Students’ Union, the Garo Students’ Union, the Mizo Zirlai Pawl, the Twipra Students’ Federation, the All Manipur Students’ Union and the Naga Students’ Federation.
