ITANAGAR, Oct 5: The All Kamle District Students’ Union in a representation to the joint secretary for home on Friday appealed for re-notification of the Raga police station (PS) under Kamle district.
The union said the C-Class Raga PS under Lower Subansiri district was notified in 1989 and now “needs re-notification of its area jurisdiction, which is so far not officially maintained, resulting in a lot of confusion.
“After the creation of Kamle district, following the bifurcation of Upper and Lower Subansiri districts, some of the administrative circles like Gepen, Puchi Geko, part of Daporijo sadar circle (consisting of all the villages which fall under 25 Raga assembly consistency, including Ligu and Liruk villages), Dollungmukh, Kamporijo, and Raga now come under Kamle district, and therefore a re-notification of the existing area jurisdiction of the Raga police station, including all the aforementioned circles, is necessary,” it said.
