KUGI TAGO, Oct 7: Yachuli MLA Likha Saaya on Saturday provided Rs 35 lakhs from his MLALAD fund for developmental activities in Kugi Tago panchayat in Pistana circle of Lower Subansiri district.
Saaya has been visiting remote villages under his constituency for the last two months.
Responding to a public memorandum demanding drinking water and power supply and improving the link road from Bikh to Toti, Saaya assured to address the electrification and drinking water issues within the month, and directed the engineers who were accompanying him to initiate action immediately.
The MLA also assured to look into the demand for improving the link road from Bikh to Toti under SADA.
To the demand for creation of an anganwadi centre, Saaya said the signatures of all the people of the area would be needed to propose it to the authorities concerned.
He said he would take up the matter of upgrading the government middle school here to secondary level with the education minister on priority.
Stating that funds misuse has been slowing down developmental activities in the area, Saaya said he would henceforth “personally monitor the execution of the developmental projects” to ensure judicious utilization of funds and timely completion of projects.
District BJYM president Toko Bath appealed to the people to avail the benefits of the schemes launched by the central and state governments.
Kugi Tago Development Committee chairman Lishi Bath thanked the MLA for providing the fund for the area’s development.
Saaya was accompanied by engineers of PWD, RWD and PHED, besides BJP leaders, workers, and others.
