NEW DELHI, Oct 27: A team of officials from the Arunachal Pradesh agriculture and horticulture departments, and farmers from various farmers producers companies (FPC) led by SDHO Mardo Nino and Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee CEO Okit Palling took part in the three-day 10th edition of Biofach – India’s largest international trade fair on organic products – which concluded at Pragati Maidan here on Saturday.
Biofach is India’s largest event for organic products, and provides a platform to organic stakeholders, retailers, exporters and importers, government boards, state pavilions, certification bodies, consultants, and associations from all over the world to congregate for networking.
The Arunachal team’s pavilion showcased organic (under conversion) products from the state, such as ginger from Roing, pineapple from Bagra, turmeric from East Kameng and Papum Pare, cardamom from Anjaw, Khamti Lahi rice from Chowkam, kiwi from Ziro, soyabean from Upper Subansiri, and arhar dal from East Siang.
The state’s farmers also got the opportunity to interact with potential and prospective buyers.
Representatives from the natural care and wellness sector, the organic textiles sector, and certification bodies, as well as leading country and state pavilions, including government boards, participated in the event.
