PASIGHAT, Oct 27: Local MLA Kaling Moyong launched a boating service on the Siang river at Komlighat here on Saturday and, along with guests and visitors, took the inaugural boat ride on the river.
“Nature has bestowed the Siang valley with scenic beauty and splendour. People visiting the valley look forward to various outdoor experiences like boating, rafting, etc,” he said.
The MLA urged enterprising people, particularly the youths, to explore avenues in the tourism sector, saying that tourism activities need to be taken up “to provide various experiences for tourists and visitors, which will help create employment opportunities and also generate revenue.”
Informing that the state government is putting special focus on promoting the tourism sector with various initiatives, Moyong urged the people to avail the schemes and provisions of the state and the central government.
The venture, ‘JJ boating services’, has been initiated by Nong Jamoh. Boating services will be operational from 10 in the morning till 4 pm. (DIPRO)
