NIKTE, Oct 27: The Aalo-based Field Outreach Bureau (FOB) conducted a special outreach programme on the ‘swachhta action plan’ here in West Siang district on Saturday, in coordination with the PHE department.
The objective of the programme, which began with a public rally which saw the participation of officials, teaching staff, students, and residents of nearby areas, was to create awareness among the public regarding the importance of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
Swachhgrahi from the PHE department, Jumto Ete, advised the public to maintain hygiene in their daily life, and highlighted the government-funded sanitation schemes for the villagers.
Former Nikte ZPM Topak Ori also spoke on the importance of the Swachh Bharat Mission to make the country clean.
Aalo FOB FPO (in-charge) M Basar advised the gathering to spread awareness on cleanliness in public, and to conduct regular cleanliness drives.
Earlier, on 26 October, the FOB conducted a social service, screened a film on cleanliness, distributed booklets, and conducted a quiz competition for the public.
