BANA, Oct 29: The East Kameng district administration conducted its 9th Sarkar Aapke Dwar camp here on Saturday.
Local woman and Janani Surakhsa Yojna beneficiary inaugurated the camp. She was chosen to encourage institutional delivery of babies.
DC GS Rajawat, in the presence of local MLA Mama Natung, administered the pledge to the villagers for free, fair and peaceful election. Earlier, a model polling station was put up by CO (Election) Taya Yulu and SVEEP nodal officer Jini Natung to provide awareness on EVM and VVPAT.
A documentary on SVEEP and the movie Newton were screened for the people, besides conducting an election-related word scramble competition.
A roadside plantation programme was also organised. The MLA, the DC, Bana EAC (in-charge) Pooza Sonam Notung, students, NGO members, and GBs planted saplings of nahar tree.
The MLA and the DC also inaugurated the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna – Grameen (PMAY – G) houses of Doblai Degio and Pemasang Chijang.
The Bana EAC office distributed 3153 certificates, including birth, death, ST and PR.
In East Siang district, government departments provided services at the doorsteps of the people during the Sarkar Aapke Dwar camp held at Mebo on Monday.
Local MLA Lombo Tayeng, who inaugurated the camp, described the Sarkar Aapke Dwar initiative as a “revolution in governance.” He visited all the stalls set up by the departments, and spoke on the role of government officers in making service delivery more people-centric and inclusive.
He also gave away free LPG connections under the PMUY to five beneficiaries. Pasighat ADC Tatdo Borang and Mebo ADC Hage Lailang were also present. (With DIPRO input)
