BPM meet held at Sino-India border

BUMLA, Oct 30: A border personnel meeting (BPM) between Indian and Chinese soldiers was held on the Chinese side of Bumla sector on 30 October.
The Indian delegation was led by Brigadier Zubin Bhatnagar and the Chinese side was led by Senior Colonel Yao Shi Cheng, reports DIPRO.
The BPM commenced with the Indian delegation being received by the PLA at the famous Heap of Stones at Bumla Pass, followed by address of the delegation leaders.
During the meeting, the delegation leaders of both the sides highlighted the importance of such meetings for maintenance of peace and tranquility along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
The BPM mechanism in the Bumla sector was established in 1990 for enhancing interaction between the border guarding troops of the two sides.
The delegations interacted in a friendly environment and both sides reaffirmed their commitment to uphold the agreements and protocols signed between their governments to maintain peace and tranquility along the borders.
