ITANAGAR, Nov 1: Candidates set to appear for the mains of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive Examination (APPSCCE) have sought postponement of the examination, scheduled to be held from 10 to 20 November, till the matter is clearly disposed of by the high court bench here.
In a letter to the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), the candidates who qualified for the mains appealed to the commission’s secretary to postpone the mains on the ground that they are “suffering from uncertainty and mental harassment due to the ongoing and never-ending legal tussle between the commission and the aggrieved petitioners” ever since the preliminary results were declared in August.
“We have lost our consistency, our rhythm and attention, which play the most vital and decisive roles in our performance, especially in a prestigious exam of this kind,” the candidates stated in the letter.
With the matter being sub judice and the final decision yet to be delivered, the candidates requested the APPSC to postpone the mains examination till the matter is disposed of by the high court.
Meanwhile, the APPSC secretary informed this daily that the memorandum has been placed before the commission and it would come to a decision by Friday.
On Wednesday, the Itanagar permanent bench of the Gauhati High Court had extended its status quo till the next hearing on 8 November.
