Nabam Rungki passes away

ITANAGAR, Nov 18: Nabam Rungki, the man who played a pivotal role in the establishment of the capital complex, passed away at around 9 pm on Sunday at his Yupia residence.
He was reportedly ailing for long time.
Late Rungki, who originally hailed from Leporiang circle in Sagalee subdivision of Papum Pare district, is considered the architect of modern Itanagar.
He managed to convince the then NEFA authorities to establish the state’s capital in Itanagar.
