ITANAGAR, Nov 22: The All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) has requested the state government to reconsider the cabinet decision for immediate revocation of out-of-turn promotion (OTP) with respect to headmasters (HM) and vice principals (VP) in the secondary education department.
In a representation to the chief minister on Thursday, the union said the “aggrieved incumbents” have been discharging their duties in different remote areas of the districts as officiating HMs and VPs since 2007 “with sincerity and dedication.”
“There is no question of burden on state exchequer for these officiating HMs and VPs,” the ANSU said, adding that the “incumbents would feel deeply humiliated physically and mentally if OTP is revoked as per the cabinet decision of 10 August, 2018, and subsequent notification issued by the education secretary on 23 October, 2018, in respect of HMs/VPs.”
The union further sought one-time relaxation in the recruitment rules and urged the government to regularize the officiating HMs and VPs.
