Trg on rainwater harvesting starts

PASIGHAT, Nov 26: Thirty government officers from various departments, along with scientists, lab assistants, farm assistants and others are participating in a five-day training programme on ‘Rainwater harvesting and its management for horticultural crops’ which began at the College of Horticulture and Forestry (CHF) here in East Siang district on Monday.
The course is aimed at upgrading the skill and knowledge of the participants with the latest advancement in rainwater harvesting structures, freshwater resource management, micro-irrigation, soil and water management, soil testing, etc.
The inaugural function was chaired by CHF Dean Dr BN Hazarika and Barapani (Meghalaya) ICAR principal scientist Dr BK Sethy.
