KIMIN, Dec 3: Field demonstration on pineapple planting technique under high density planting system was conducted as part of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Papum Pareorganized training-cum-demonstration programme on ‘high density planting of pineapple’ at Lora village of Kimin Circle, here on 30 November last.
About 30 farmers participated in the said training, wherein subject matter specialists Hemanta Ngangbam and Tilling Tabyo delivered a detailed lecture on cultivation of pineapple under high density planting system for enhancing qualitative and qualitative pineapple fruit production, and plant protection activities through judicious use of agri-chemicals to avoid chemical hazard.
They also stressed on the use of organic pesticides for healthy environment.
During the programme, 10 interested farmers were also identified for establishing demonstration units for promoting high density planting system.
