ITANAGAR, Dec 4: RWD and IPR Minister Bamang Felix on Tuesday advised the officers, PIOs and contractors to expedite road link works in state and utilize the fund judiciously with quality roads, bridges and culverts in the state. He said this during joint interactive session on the second day of the state level review meeting of PMGSY here.
Emphasizing on the proper monitoring of on-going projects as per Government’s guidelines, Felix advocated for full coordination and cooperation between them with spirit of ‘Team RWD’ to achieve and accomplish their target of road connectivity in all the rural areas across the state.
‘Fund is not a problem’, the Minister said and announced that his ministry has got sanctioned Rs. 500 crores from the Centre. He assured the contractors that as soon as the works of the projects are completed the payment of the bill will be immediately released. He further informed that another amount of Rs 400 crore is expected to be allocated soon by the Centre.
During the day-long discussion, the SEs of the respective circles displayed the latest position of the on-going schemes and the concerned PIOs and contractors were asked to explain about the problems and difficulties for which the work couldn’t be accomplished.
The circle-wise contractors and PIOs have committed to complete the on-going project latest by the end of March 2019 and also signed the ‘undertaking agreement’ in this regard in presence of the minister, according to an official release.
