Families of injured submit memo to MLA

ITANAGAR, Dec 4: The family members of the Adventure@Mechuka festival committee members who suffered grievous injuries in the 25 November incident have submitted a four-point memorandum to the MLA-cum-chairperson of Adventure at Mechuka on Tuesday and appealed to him to take urgent steps to fulfill the demands.
Its demands include; immediate arrest of all culprits involved in the attack under appropriate sections of law, transfer of case from Mechuka police station to Itanagar police station for the convenience of the family members of the injured, financial assistance and compensation to the injured etc.

APCC condemns Mechukha incident
The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has vehemently condemned the incident, where three persons were attacked by a group of ‘local’ youths during a tourism promotional event at Mechukha on 25 November.
Describing the incident very unfortunate, APCC said such incidents not only affect the tourism sector but also bring bad name in the reputation to the state as the festival was participated by thousands of domestic and foreign tourists.
The party demanded the district administration to bring all the culprits involved in the incident to book without any further delay
The APCC also criticized the local MLA for remaining mum on the incident, stating that ‘he might be shielding the culprits.’
