Slow pace of Highway work

Dear Editor,
This is regarding the ongoing High way expansion between Itanagar and Naharlagun.
We all know that Arunachal is a rainy place. We hardly have 5 months of working season in the state as per as road construction is concerned.
One day of winter here is equivalent to 2.5 days considering the very short dry season we have in the state. If you are losing one day in the winter here means you are in fact losing more than 2 days worth. However, if we go by the way the executing agency is handling the road, they seems to have the luxury of time. There is hardly any visible activity in the road these days in spite of favourable weather all around these days for outdoor works.
Commuters who have to shuttle in between Itanagar and Naharlagun every day know how difficult it is to negotiate these excavated and dug up road every day on daily basis.
My earnest request to the concerned authority, please direct the executing agency to speed up the work and press in more men and machineries for early completion of the road.
If not at least fill up those dug up potholes on the road and do take some remedial measures to minimize the dust storms that are kicked off on daily basis these days out of the half excavated roads. The city has become a ‘Duli nagar’ now.
Sincerely,
Tashor Pali
