ITANAGAR, Dec 8: Land Management Minister Nabam Rebia on Saturday assured several community-based organizations (CBO) that he would take up the issue of the Potin-Pangin Trans-Arunachal Highway (TAH) compensation scam in the next cabinet meeting (to be held on 13 December) and take appropriate action as per the fact-finding committee’s (FFC) report on the scam.
The assurance came when representatives of the Nyishi Elite Society, the Tanii Supun Dukun, the Tagin Cultural Society and the Galo Welfare Society, under the banner of the Arunachal Indigenous Tribes Forum (AITF), held a discussion with
the minister at his official residence here on Saturday in connection with the infamous Potin-Pangin TAH scam, the AITF informed in a release.
It said the minister assured the CBOs that the state government would take appropriate follow-up action on the basis of the FFC report on the scam.
In view of the assurance from the minister, the AITF said it would wait till the state cabinet takes appropriate decision on the findings and the FFC report.
“If no action is taken on the report, the CBOs of the 26 major tribes under the banner of the AITF will be compelled to launch a massive democratic movement against the state government, for which the state government itself will be solely responsible,” it said.
