Officials inspect colleges, polytechnic institutes

ITANAGAR, Dec 8: A team of officials from the higher & technical education (HTE) directorate toured the eastern parts of the state from 4 to 7 December to assess the ongoing projects at various higher educational institutions, and new sites for the establishment of colleges.
The team was led by HTE Director Dr Tayek Talom, and included RUSA Deputy State Project Director Minto Ete and Technical Education Deputy Director Sanjay Bengia.
In Kanubari in Longding district, Dr Talom praised the people for voluntarily donating land for the establishment of a model degree college approved under the RUSA.
He directed the executing agency to start the jungle clearance at the earliest.
At Wangcha Rajkumar Government College in Deomali in Tirap district, the visiting team inspected the projects taken up with fund from the RUSA.
The following day, the team visited the under-construction building of the polytechnic institute in Miao in Changlang district.
Dr Talom requested the construction agency to follow the guidelines and maintain the quality of work. He also urged the agency to complete the project in a time-bound manner.
Later, the team visited the site for the establishment of a model degree college in Piyong in Namsai district approved under the RUSA, and inspected the land development work.
Ete instructed the executing agency to expedite the work for early completion of the tender process of the project.
On 6 December, the team inspected the completed projects of the RUSA undertaken at Indira Gandhi Government College, Tezu, and the site for the establishment of a government engineering college in Tezu approved under the RUSA.
Requesting the executing agency to expedite the tender process, Ete said “it will benefit hundreds of students from eastern Arunachal in particular and students from across the state in general, once the college is established.”
On 7 December, the team visited the government polytechnic institute in Roing and the state university and Jawaharlal Nehru College in Pasighat.
The team requested the executing agency to complete the projects at the earliest and maintain the quality of work.
