Former joint secy Bengia Chapo passes away

ITANAGAR, Dec 9: Former state government joint secretary Bengia Chapo passed away at RK Mission hospital here on Sunday morning. He was 48, and is survived by his wife, a son, and eight daughters.
Born to late Bengia Beri and Bengia Yake on 19 June, 1970, in Yapak village in Kurung Kumey district, late Chapo was the first graduate from the village. He had joined the state legislative assembly as a UDC, and was eventually promoted to the rank of joint secretary.
On hearing the news of his demise, the Nyishi Elite Society and the Bengia Welfare Society expressed deep sorrow and extended condolences to the bereaved family.
“His untimely demise is a great loss to the Nyishi community in particular and the state as whole, and has created a huge vacuum in the society,” the organisations said, and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
The Itanagar Market Welfare Association also extended its solidarity with the grieving family and prayed that his soul may rest in eternal peace.
