‘3 govt schools in capital to be improved’

NAHARLAGUN, Dec 10: Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso informed that three government-run schools of the capital complex would soon get RCC buildings, replacing their existing NEFA era structures.
Kaso said this while interacting with media persons after inspecting the under-construction RCC building of the Kankar Nallah government higher secondary school here.
He directed the officers not to compromise with the quality of work, and urged them to construct G+2 or +3 buildings, in view of the acute scarcity of land in the capital.
Kaso said his priority is to improve road connectivity, besides the health and education sectors.
“Rs 3 crore has been sanctioned for construction of RCC classrooms in the Kankar Nallah GHSS, where the work is progressing in full swing. Another Rs 1 crore has been granted for construction of RCC classrooms in the Arunodaya higher secondary school in Itanagar, and work has started there too. Likewise, several other schools have been provided funds for upgrading their infrastructure,” said Kaso.
He said 21 kilometres of CC roads are under construction in various parts of the capital complex, and that work on most of them is expected to be completed within the next few months.
PWD SE Techi Ratu, who accompanied Kaso, said he has directed his officers to construct infrastructure as per the requirement of the school.
Among others, Naharlagun PWD Division EE Techi Nabo, senior leader Taba Takhi and HGB Techi Murkhi were present on the occasion.
Earlier, the dignitaries inaugurated the 450 mtr CC road in Model Village.
