CM begins second leg of ‘Arunachal Rising’ campaign

KANGKONG, Dec 15: Chief Minister Pema Khandu began the second leg of the state government’s ‘Arunachal Rising’ campaign at Kangkong village in Lower Dibang Valley (LDV) district on Saturday.
The six-day campaign will cover Lower Dibang Valley, Dibang Valley, Anjaw, Lohit and Siang districts.
On his arrival, Pema inaugurated the Sarkar Aapke Dwar (SAD) camp here, and visited the stalls set up by various government departments. He distributed certificates, licences and other benefits to several beneficiaries, and gave away tractors to four beneficiaries under the CM’s Agriculture Mechanization Scheme.
Addressing the people, the CM highlighted the importance of SAD camps and the ‘Arunachal Rising’ campaign. He commended the LDV administration for reaching out to approximately 15000 beneficiaries through SAD camps.
“The people are now coming to know more about the government schemes,” Pema said, adding that the purpose of the ‘Arunachal Rising’ campaign “is to bridge the gap between the people and the government.”
The CM dedicated projects worth Rs 83 crore to the people of the district. He had earlier inaugurated the academic block of Jomin Tayeng Government Model Degree College in Jemi Notko, and a double-lane 270-metre bridge over the Sissiri river on the Bomjir-Paglam road.
Pema also laid the foundation stones for the 8 km Bomjir-Bizari road, a 90-metre double-lane bridge over the Sissar river on the Bomjir-Paglam road, the Eze-Mayudia tourist complex, and the Eklavya model residential school.
The chief minister gave away certificates and cash awards to performing ASHAs, anganwadi workers, progressive farmers, and the winners of the essay writing competition conducted in the district.
He also handed over articles procured under the CSR scheme by the HPCL for different schools in the district.
DCM Chowna Mein and Dambuk MLA Gum Tayeng also spoke.
Also present on the occasion were Roing MLA Mutchu Mithi, former MLA Laeta Umbrey, DC Mitali Namchoom and SP Sanjay Sain. (CMO)
