PASIGHAT, Jan 2: East Siang and Dibang Valley districts have reportedly achieved their 100 percent electrification targets on 31 December.
All the left out eligible households of the two districts that remained un-electrified on 10 October, 2017 have been provided with electricity connections under the Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana- Saubhagya Scheme, certified the superintending engineers (SEs) of the Power department in both the districts.
In East Siang, the centrally sponsored scheme has covered 29 villages in Ruksin, 23 in Pasighat and 19 in Mebo sub-divisions, while in Dibang Valley, the househol-ds covered under the scheme were 126.
The total number of households provided with electricity connections in East Siang district is 2,662.
The officials of Pasighat Electrical Division said that installation of transformers in the villages that have been left out, has almost been completed and the remaining work will be completed within the next seven days.
