PASIGHAT, Jan 3: The Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Services (APSTS) on Thursday started a bus service from East Siang HQ Pasighat to Dibrugarh in Assam, via the Bogibeel bridge.
The service will be of immense assistance to patients from Pasighat seeking treatment at the Assam Medical College in Dibrugarh.
Flagging off the bus service at the APSTS station here, Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong expressed hope that it would help patients in medical emergency, and also create new commercial prospects.
APSTS officials informed that the department will operate more buses on the route in the coming days.
Besides the bus service, the Northeast Frontier Railway has already introduced intercity passenger trains between Naharlagun and Tinsukia.
