ITANAGAR, Jan 16: The Dibang Valley district unit of the All Arunachal Pradesh Workers’ Union (AAPWU) has in a letter to the chief engineer (eastern zone) Hydro Power department, on Wednesday requested him to direct the Anini DHPD executive engineer to immediately reinstate one Soni Thakuri, a casual peon working under DHPD, Anini whose job was discontinued in November 2018.
The Dibang Valley district unit of AAPWU has claimed that the said person was terminated from her job during her maternity period by the executive engineer without any notification or official termination order.
The union has also threatened to resort to democratic action in case its demands are not met soon.
