Daria Hills can be a tourist destination: Rebia

ITANAGAR, Jan 17: Environment & Forests Minister Nabam Rebia said Daria Hills and the forest areas around it could be turned into a tourist destination.
During a visit to the area here on Thursday with forest officials, Rebia said the state capital lacks an area for locals and tourists to indulge in leisure activities involving nature, and suggested sending a separate team of forest officers to study the area in detail.
He said he would write to the district administration after receiving a report from the officials on the scope for developing the area as a tourist site with all facilities, “without destroying its natural aspect.”
Rebia also advised the landowners in the area not to allow hunters into the forest, and to protect the area’s environs.
