On 25th Jan. whole country celebrated National Tourism day, Degree/Diploma holders in tourism study were sitting at home in frustration because of non-advertisement of post of District tourism officer (DTO) and Tourist information officer (TIO).
In last year also, on the same occasion, we had made same appeal. But nothing happened.
Posts of DTO and TIO are technical one and should not be held by generalist for such a long time.
In many districts, these posts are given to APCS officer as additional charge, whereas hundreds of qualified APST unemployed youths are in queue to serve the state as DTO and TIO but government is not advertising the vacant posts in spite of repeated appeal for last many years and availability of good number of vacant posts.
Now, election is very close and we poor unemployed youths are afraid that these posts may be filled through backdoor. But technical posts must not be filled up secretly because it is state, which will suffer eventually.
Election commission is going to announce election date in the month of March.
Therefore, we the poor students of Tourism studies appeal to minister of Tourism and Chief minister to float the advertisement of DTO and TIO in the month of February, before the implementation of election code of conduct.
