MODEL VILLAGE, Feb 16: Day 6 of the Model Super League (MSL) saw the most anticipated clash of the tournament, between defending champions Petwa United FC (PUFC) and two-time winner Commando FC, at the general ground here on Saturday.
Fans saw PUFC take the lead due to an own goal by the Commando FC defender while attempting a clearance against a shot by Techi Takar in the first half.
Amar Debom doubled the lead by scoring his debut goal for PUFC in the 45th minute.
Commando FC fought back with a goal by Dungda Pui in the 49th minute, but it was too little too late.
The second match of the day saw a hard fought draw between Athletico de Model FC (ADMFC) and Thug Life Bulls FC (TLBFC).
A physically tough match saw the deadlock broken by Tadar Joy for ADMFC in the second half, pouncing on a split-second opportunity when the ball dropped out of the goalkeeper’s grasp.
Chukhu Abu equalized for TLBFC by driving in a brilliant goal from 25 yards away, giving his team a crucial point.
The next matches will be held between Khampu FC and Black Warriors at 3 pm, and between Queens Gate Public School and Real Model FC at 6 pm on Sunday.
