CM launches state assembly website, app

ITANAGAR, Fe 21: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday launched the website arunachalassembly.com and the mobile app of the state legislative assembly in a function attended by DCM Chowna Mein, Speaker TN Thongdok, Deputy Speaker Tumke Bagra and all legislators.
“The launching of the website and the mobile app is the first step under the eVidhan project for Arunachal assembly to go digital,” the CM said.
He said the Centre has decided to fund the eVidhan project for all the states in India, and added that the project in Arunachal has started way ahead, with a funding of Rs 22 crore from the state exchequer.
“Himachal Pradesh is the first state in India to launch the eVidhan project, with the rest of the states in India following suit,” Khandu said.
He said the eVidhan project would enable all the members of the assembly to access online questions, answers, press releases, bulletins, budget papers, speeches, documents, and bills tabled in the house.
The chief minister congratulated the speaker and the deputy speaker for the successful launch of the eVidhan project for the state assembly.
Highlighting the importance of digital technology, he said “one cannot run away from it,” and urged all members of the assembly to open social media accounts to stay in touch with their constituents. He also urged them to use the social media to “inform the people of the good work they are doing.”
“With transparency as the objective, the state government has launched IT initiatives in the state, such as eILP and the GeM portal, started Wi-Fi zones, PFMS, DBT, eOffice, CPGRAMS, etc,” Khandu said.
He said Arunachal has set the goal of turning all government offices into eOffics by January 2022. (CMO)
