Lawlessness condemned, deceased mourned

ITANAGAR, Feb 25: NGO Being Arunachalee on Monday condemned the lawlessness witnessed in the capital over the last few days, particularly the looting of shops in the capital complex.
“Such incidents have diverted the whole agitation from its main goal. The fight of people of Arunachal was against granting of PRCs to non-APSTs, and we won by ensuring that the state government would not pursue it anymore. Unfortunately, some people are taking advantage of this situation and are creating lawlessness in the capital complex,” it said.
The NGO mourned the death of three youths in police firing during the anti-PRC agitation, and requested the state government to adequately compensate the families of the deceased, and also those who were injured.
“Their sacrifice should be always remembered by the people of this state,” it said.
It also urged the government to take action against those who looted shops during the agitation.
