YINGKIONG, Feb 26: A 21-member district level peace committee, headed by former ZPM Bading Teng, has been formed in Upper Siang district to ensure prevalence of peace and tranquility in the district.
The committee was formed following a meeting between DC Karma Leki, representatives of community-based organisations, and heads of departments here on Tuesday, in the wake of the law and order situation following the recent anti-PRC agitation in the state capital.
The DC earlier briefed the participants on the purpose of the meeting, and sought their suggestions. ADC Tamik Talom also spoke. (DIPRO)
