Association reiterates demand

ITANAGAR, Mar 5: All Arunachal Pradesh Non-Registered Contractors’ Association has reiterated its demand for complete amendment of the provisions of the Arunachal Pradesh District Based Entrepreneurs and Professionals (Incentives, Development and Promotional) Rules, 2015, “so that contract works of the schemes under the State Plan below Rs 1 crore can be awarded without floating tender.”
Reminding the state government of its earlier memorandums submitted in 2016-18, the association in a fresh memorandum on Tuesday expressed resentment that, except offering assurances and promises, the government did not take any initiative to redress the its grievances.
It alleged that the ‘work order system’ had been issued for execution of work to the tune of Rs 9.5 crore for five projects under the tourism department on 22 March, 2018, in violation of Clauses (i) and (ii) (a) of the District Based Entrepreneurs and Professionals Rules, 2015.
The association also alleged similar violation of rules in the education department while awarding contract works amounting to crores of rupees.
