Joint Indo-Bangla white water rafting expedition flagged off

AALO, Mar 17: A joint Indo- Bangladesh white water rafting expedition on Siyum River was flagged off from Tumbin Village under Kaying sub-division by GOC of 56 infantry division Major General Ajai Verma on Sunday.
The main purpose of the expedition is to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries as well as promote the spirit of adventurism among the youths.
This expedition team, headed by Lieutenant Colonel BN Jha of Indian Army, includes two officers, a JCO and seven other ranks each from both the nations.
The three-day expedition from Tumbin Village up to Pangin in Siang district will cover a distance of around 85 km, during which the team would encounter grade- 2 and grade-3 rapids.
The Along Military Station is coordinating the expedition, which is scheduled to culminate on 18 March.
Brigadier C Dayalan, Commander 5 Infantry Brigade and other dignitaries were also present during the flagging off ceremony. (DIPRO)
