MODEL VILLAGE, Mar 17: The 28th match of the Model Super League (MSL) saw defending champions Petwa United FC (PUFC) cruise through with a 3-1 win over debutants Queens Gate Public School.
This has ensured the PUFC a spot in the MSL semi-finals.
All-time high scorer Techi Tasar continued his goal scoring with a quick brace in the first half.
Queens Gate FC pulled one goal via Dibang Waii.
Taw Akash scored the third goal for PUFC and ended all hopes for the minnows.
Goal Keeper Amar Debom Tamin of PUFC was awarded the man of the match.
In the final league match, two debutant teams Real Model FC (RMFC) clashed with Thug Life Bulls FC (TLBFC). Both teams already out of contention for elimination round fought for their pride.
Nabam Chama put RMFC in the lead in the 6th minute.
Karo Dada equalized for TLBFC in the 34th minute, while striker Jomin Siram put TLBFC briefly in the lead in the 48th minute.
However, Ngurang Akin equalized for RMFC in the next minute.
Techi Puchi then scored the third goal for RMFC, but the Thugs again equalized via Karo Dada and ended the match in a draw.
Karo Dada of TLBFC was awarded the man of the match for scoring two goals and drawing it for his depleted team.
