ITANAGAR, Mar 27: The audio-visual publicity van deployed by the capital complex administration carried out its awareness activity under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme near Legi Complex and Gandhi market here on Wednesday.
The van will cover all major locations in the capital complex during the course of the programme, screening videos on the importance of voting, how to cast votes using the EVM/VPAAT, etc. Pamphlets are also being distributed among the public.
DC Himanshu Gupta expressed hope the initiative would help the people become aware of the importance of free and fair voting.
“It will also give an idea to the public on how to cast their votes, especially to the shopkeepers and market dwellers,” he said, adding that the awareness programme will continue till the day of voting.
The DC appealed to the residents of the capital complex to cooperate with the administration and not get involved in any activity that violates the model code of conduct. (DIPRO)
