JOLLANG, Apr 2: Students and faculty members of Don Bosco College (DBC) here participated in a seminar on the Consumer Protection Act, 1986, conducted by the college’s commerce department on Tuesday.
Addressing the participants, Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs Assistant Controller Taba Amrit spoke on the reasons behind the enactment of the act, as well as the new amendment policies of 2018.
He also highlighted the rights of the consumer as a receiver of medical services, and gave examples of successful cases handled by the consumer court.
Students presented papers highlighting the status of entrepreneurs and customers of the capital complex with regard to the consumer protection policies.
DBC principal Fr Jose George and Commerce HoD Laxmi Rai also spoke.
