BOMDILA, Apr 22: Union Housing & Urban Affairs (H&UA) Secretary Durga Shanker Mishra on Monday inspected various projects in West Kameng district, such as the solid liquid waste management plant located at 6 Mile, and the incomplete Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (PMAY) housing projects in Dirang and Pedung.
Mishra, who was accompanied by the union H&UA joint secretary and the state’s Urban Development & Housing (UD&H) Secretary Kunal Kumar, assured to release the final installments soon for early completion of the PMAY units.
He directed the UD&H executive engineer to finalize the list of the beneficiaries for allotment.
Mishra also interacted with members of women SHGs, and advocated taking them on exposure tours to help them refine their activities.
Later, interacting with DC Sonal Swaroop and other officers here, Mishra stressed the need for constructing more public toilets in the district, and asked the DC and the department concerned to do the needful.
Over the inordinate delay in sanctioning of loans, the secretary directed the branch managers of the various financial institutions under which schemes have been placed to release the amounts to the beneficiaries at an early date. (DIPRO)
