RUKSIN, Apr 27: As many as 1,777 patients from different rural areas of the state, besides from Jonai in neighbouring Assam, received free treatment and medicines during the two-day ‘mega health camp’ which concluded here in East Siang district on Friday.
A team of doctors from medical departments such as OPD, dental, ENT, gynaecology & obstetrics, orthopaedics, pediatrics, medicine, malaria and minor surgery, along with health staffers offered treatment for various
kinds of ailments during the two-day camp. They included 210 surgeries, 176 gynaecology cases, 122 ENT cases, 99 dental cases, 310 eye ailment cases, 127 PMR cases, and 204 USG cases.
Laboratory tests and diagnostic machines such as X-ray and USG were also pressed into service.
The gynaecologists and surgeons also carried out surgical delivery of a male baby during the camp. Two major surgeries – one LSCS of post-caesarean section and one uterine myomectomy – were conducted by a team of doctors on the concluding day.
The two-day camp was organized under the aegis of the East Siang unit of the Mukhya Mantri Rogi Kalyan Kosh and the Ruksin first referral unit.
