IJU condemns attack on TV journalist

HYDERABAD/DELHI, Apr 28: The Indian Journalists’ Union (IJU) has condemned the attack on Rajib Bora, a journalist working for DY365 news channel from Jorhat, Assam, on the evening of 27 April.
Bora was attacked by unidentified miscreants while he was returning home from his duty. The intention of the attack is suspected to be airing of election-related news by Bora.
The IJU urged the Assam government to ensure safety and security of journalists in the state and speed up investigation and give exemplary punishment to the culprits.
In a statement, IJU President Amar Devulapally and Secretary-General Sabina Inderjit asked the state government to take immediate action against systematic attacks on journalists in the state.
