DAMBUK, May 6: The 10th Gora Pertin Memorial Football Tournament was kicked off at the general ground here in Lower Dibang Valley district on Monday by state Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) president Taring Tiri and BJYM national secretary Nani Opo.
The tournament is organized in memory of former MLA and one of the tallest leaders of the district, late Gora Pertin.
Addressing the inaugural function, Tiri and Opo urged the participants to take up sports as a career and make a living out of it. Former Dambuk ZPM Kaling Pertin also encouraged the teams and offered his best wishes.
The tournament is being organized by the Adi Cultural and Literary Society, Lower Dibang Valley.
Members of the Adi Baane Kebang were also present during the kick-off ceremony.
Fifteen teams are participating in the tournament this year.
