ITANAGAR, May 20: Concerned over the poll-related violence that occurred in various parts of the state, the Arunachal Pradesh Abotani Community Confederation (APACC) said it has formed a peace committee.
The committee has been formed especially in view of any untoward incident occurring during the post-election period, it said.
The APACC has also launched a helpline number to address grievances of individuals and families, in order to maintain brotherliness, particularly among the people in the Tani inhabited areas, it said.
It appealed to the Tani community not to spread enmity and violence, especially after the election results are declared, to ensure peaceful coexistence.
