Arms smuggling network busted

KOHIMA, May 20: Security forces have apprehended four underground (UG) members connected to a sophisticated foreign made arms smuggling network, and seized three pistols, one rifle, ammunition, and other incriminating documents from them.
Self-styled (SS) major Tonivi Swu (39), SS captain Hukuto Tokishe (42) and one Leacy Kiviho Kiva (50) were apprehended from Dimapur, Nagaland, during a crackdown on criminals involved in illegal weapons smuggling, on 17 and 18 May, according a defence release.
The apprehended UG members were handed over to the East Dimapur police station, along with the recovered arms and ammunition on 18 May, it said.
