Edn secy calls for timely completion of RUSA projects

ITANAGAR, May 27: Education Secretary Madhu Rani Teotia has asked the heads of institutions and executing agencies to complete the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) projects in the state on time, saying future funding will be released on the basis of “performance and outcomes.”
The secretary in a meeting here on Monday reviewed the progress of the projects implemented under RUSA 1.0 and RUSA 2.0 in the state.
Stating that the pace of the work in some institutions is “moderately slower than expected,” Teotia said the funding pattern, particularly under RUSA 3.0, would henceforth be “purely based on performance and outcomes.”
She informed that non-NAAC accredited institutions are also eligible for funding under RUSA 3.0, subject to their submitting their five-year institutional development plans, along with filling up data on the RUSA MIS portal.
Teotia asked the heads of institutions to ensure correct uploading of data on the RUSA MIS portal since funding would be based on the data available of the respective institutions.
She also emphasized the need for geo-tagging all the infrastructures created under the RUSA for easy identification and monitoring.
“Moreover, the state government has made it mandatory for GIS mapping of the ongoing and completed projects,” she said.
