ROING, Jun 20: The food & civil supplies department on Thursday organised an awareness programme here in Lower Dibang Valley district on the launch of smart cards in the state.
The smart cards are being introduced in the state by the department at selected fair price shops (FPS) in every district as a pilot project.
Resource persons including SDO Kego Jilen educated hundreds of ration card holders of the DV Lamps on using smart cards to draw PDS items from the FPS’.
Jilen advised the ration card holders to keep their smart cards safely and not disclose their password to others.
“The facility will be beneficial for all consumers and will bring transparency in the public distribution system,” he said. (DIPRO)
