LONGDING, Jun 22: The Class 9, 10, 11 and 12 CBSE exam toppers of Longding district were felicitated under the Acharya Dronacharya Gurukul Yojna (ADGY) by the education department and the district administration here on Saturday.
Longding DC Cheshta Yadav handed over the certificates of excellence, laptops and smartphones to the meritorious students in a function here.
While the top 10 students of Class 9 were awarded a laptop each, smartphones were given to the top 10 students of Class 11.
The DC lauded the achievement of the students in the face of numerous shortcomings in the educational scenario in the district.
“As a deputy commissioner, my priority would be to improve the health and education scenario in the district, and you will soon see some changes in these sectors, as I have lots of plans in the pipeline,” she said.
Yadav said similar programmes would also be organized in the future by the administration to encourage talented youths in various other fields, such as music, art and culture, and sports.
DDSE Mongol Taki, LDSU president Tingo Wangsu and WSU president Pongngoi Joham also spoke.
The function was attended the principals of various schools, besides students and their parents. (DIPRO)
