ITANAGAR, Jul 2: Representatives of the All Arunachal Private Schools Association (AAPSA) on Tuesday discussed with Education Secretary Madhu Rani Teotia matters related to education in the state.
The members discussed with the secretary matters such as board examinations for Classes 5 and 8, and “compulsory use of NCERT textbooks.”
Teotia advised the AAPSA to “come up with more district units and strengthen the activities of the association even in the rural areas.”
She also encouraged the AAPSA to be a connection between the private schools and the state government in the field of education.
Jollang-based Don Bosco Higher Secondary School’s principal, Fr Gangmei Jansinlung Joshua, expressed appreciation for the education secretary “for taking the AAPSA into confidence and showing an attitude of healthy collaboration between the government and private schools.”
The meeting had been initiated by Donyi Polo Vidya Bhavan principal and AAPSA general secretary Levi E Katy.
