SA destroys seized tobacco

ITANAGAR, Jul 18: Tobacco products worth Rs 50,000 were destroyed by the civil secretariat administration (SA) here on Thursday.
Deputy Secretary CK Gohain said the secretariat’s campus has been declared a tobacco-free zone, and the civil secretariat authority has requested all officers, officials and guests who visit the secretariat not to bring tobacco products inside its premises.
“Notice has already been issued several times in this regard and awareness was given to the employees. Despite this, it has been observed that the security personnel often seize huge quantities of tobacco products at the check points,” Gohain said.
He called on everyone to “respect the sanctity of the office and keep the civil secretariat clean.”
SA Undersecretary K Gamoh, GA Undersecretary Okang Perme, and the security officer of the secretariat were present on the occasion.
