LDV reviews preps to tackle JE

ROING, Jul 18: The Lower Dibang Valley (LDV) district level monitoring committee reviewed the district’s preparedness to deal with Japanese encephalitis (JE) during a meeting between DC Mitali Namchoom and government officers here on Thursday.
The meeting also discussed various developmental activities being undertaken in the district.
DVBDCPO Dr N Yirang spoke on JE and the precautionary measures to be taken to fight the disease.
The DC took stock of the physical and financial achievements under various state and central government schemes, the department-wise project proposals for 2019-20, and the precautionary measures against JE.
Namchoom reminded the works departments to inform the administrative officers about all the ongoing projects, “so that they can properly check and verify the quality of works being undertaken.” She also cautioned the executing departments against “duplication and overlapping of projects.”
Several administrative officers suggested measures related to proper town planning to avoid haphazard construction of buildings.
DPO Marto Dirchi highlighted the provisions under the 2019 state budget. (DIPRO)
