DFO, DC office staffer pass away

DEOMALI, Aug 1: The DFO of the forest division here in Tirap district, Hemmar Nyorak, passed away due to a cardiac arrest at the AMC in Dibrugarh (Assam) on 31 July. He was 54.
A native of Nyorak village in West Siang district, Nyorak had joined service in 1987 as a range officer, and had joined the Deomali forest division in November last year as the DFO.
Meanwhile, Bir Bahadur Thapa, a peon at the deputy commissioner’s office in Khonsa, also died on Wednesday at a hospital in Guwahati (Assam) after prolonged illness.
The officers and staff of the DC office and its adjacent offices observed a two-minute silence on Thursday as a mark of respect to the departed souls, and offered condolences to the bereaved families.
