CHIMPU, Aug 13: Sisang Angong United FC and Ai-Ye Hol FC on Tuesday tasted their first wins in the Itanagar Solung Football Tournament, being conducted at the AAPBn ground here.
While Sisang Angong United FC ended their tournament campaign on a winning note, defeating Agam Yameng FC 8-0, the Ai-Ye Hol FC kept their hope for a quarterfinals berth alive after the team defeated Bogun Narmi FC 2-0 in a do or die match.
Sisang Angong started the game aggressively, scoring in the 4th minute into the play by Ronjon Moyong. He doubled the score in the 8th minute, before Bharat Padung netted the third goal in the 15th minute.
Veteran player Vijay Jamoh also scored two goals, in the 27th and the 42nd minutes.
Already out from the title race, Sisang Angong showed no mercy against their rivals as Takium Taki scored three more goals in the 33rd, 58th and 90+2 minutes to complete the drubbing of the team.
Talom Tali, who assisted five goals, was adjudged the ‘player of the day’. On the other hand, Ai-Ye Hol’s win against Bogun Narmi FC threw the Pool C wide open.
Ojing Bonung scored both the goals from Ai Ye Hol FC in the 3rd and the 18th minutes of the play.
Meanwhile, RGU Yameng FC and Donggin FC have qualified for the quarterfinals from Pool B.
