VKV alumni organise health camp

SEIJOSA, Aug 17: Around 900 people, including students, from Seijosa and nearby areas benefitted from a free health camp organised at the CHC here by the Pakke-Kessang district unit of the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Alumni Association (VKVAA) on Saturday.
Eight OPD units were set up for the camp from 9 am till 6 pm, and 19 specialist doctors conducted the camp.
Health Deputy Director Dr Runi Tasung provided counselling, and distributed free sanitary napkins among girl children. The land donor of the VKV here, Hare Tana, also attended the programme.
“This free health camp was part of the association’s efforts to make Swami Vivekananda’s teaching of ‘Service to man is service to god’ a reality, and such social service will be carried out in other parts of the state too,” the VKVAA’s state unit chairman Taba Tatup said.
“This is our small effort to give back to the society from what we’ve learned in VKVs,” said organising secretary Heter Nabam.
